Indiana Jones (4) and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Straks is het zover, dan gaan we kijken naar Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. We zijn niet zo gek om de sessie van 00.01 uur te kiezen. Neen, als beschaafde mensen gaan we om 20 uur kijken.
De plot is een vrij goed bewaard geheim. Alleen weten we dat het verhaal zich afspeelt in 1957, 19 jaar na Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1938). De slechteriken zijn dan ook geen nazi’s, maar Sovjets.
Wat is wel bekend van het verhaal? Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Jr., beter bekend als Indiana Jones, gaat op zoek naar een - buitenaards? - kristallen doodskop. Die bevindt zich ergens in de jungle van Latijns-Amerika. Volgens De Standaard is er een hoog Kuifje-gehalte.
Harrison Ford (4) kruipt weeral in de huid van Indy, Karen Allen komt terug als Marion Ravenwood (Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark). Zij speelt de moeder van Henry “Mutt” Williams (gespeeld door tieneridool Shia LaBeouf). Sommige bronnen insinueren dat Mutt de zoon is van Indy, en dat hij de reeks zou verder kunnen zetten. Cate Blanchett speelt dan weer de Russische Irina Spalko.
Verwachtingen
Wat zijn mijn verwachtingen? Het verhaal moet niet beresterk zijn, ik wil hoog Spielbergiaans avonturenkitsch. Ik lust wel foute avonturenfilms zoals Indiana Jones, National Treasure, The Librarian, Romancing The Stone, Jewel of the Nile, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
